from About UsAriolan for Metal telescopic dilators

The classic Alken set sports a metal non flexible first dilator and is rather difficult to use unless you very frequently do this procedure. Rigid first dilator is, in my hands, a way to loss-of-access and/or perforation, which is why have been using Cook dilators now. With a flexible, disposable first dilator, followed by rigid metal dilators, I will have to reconsider my choice of instruments. Thanks for this review Thomas Muller, urologist, the Netherlands.

from phil for Nephromax balloon

Quick. More expensive than the metal dilators in the long run. Cant dilate right up to the stone so no good for staghorns and anywhere where you need to get right to the stone at the edge of the system.
